A multilateral environmental agreement (MEA) is a legally binding agreement between two or more states relating to the environment. They are predominantly produced by the United Nations.

The vast majority of MEAs have been produced since the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment (better known as the Stockholm Conference) in 1972.
